Philosophy

WE DESIRE FOR YOU TO BE WHOLLY SEEN, FULLY HEARD, AND DEEPLY LOVED.

We believe that, in general, and for most women, pregnancy is a normal, healthy, low-risk process, and we treat all pregnancies in our care in this manner. We believe in preventing complications and preparation for birth through nutrition, exercise, complementary holistic practitioners, the use of herbs, and vitamins & education.

We believe in shared decision-making with our clients, and that Informed Consent is an ongoing process between midwife and client. We believe that the collaborative process between client and midwife incorporates client preferences and values into the plan of care with a viewpoint that if there is no strong clinical evidence to point to one direction in clinical decision making, the value and preferences of the client take preference in care. We believe it is the provider's responsibility to discover what those values and priorities are and incorporate them into the plan of care & that it is the client's responsibility to seek knowledge through research and conversation to make the best decisions for herself and her baby.

We believe in providing a safe space for you and your family to become empowered through individualized care and an authentic relationship. As your midwife, we strive to support you while you decide the best options for you, your family, and your pregnancy.

We tailor your experience to support the natural physiologic childbirth process – one driven by your's and your baby's innate human capacity while protecting your safety. Because of these beliefs, we are strong advocates for Vaginal Birth after Cesarean (VBAC).

We also believe that there are times when higher-level intervention is necessary due to unforeseen or evolving medical conditions. Therefore, in collaboration and informed disclosure with the client, we will seek that intervention when necessary to ensure the health and well-being of the MotherBaby diad.

We consider it an honor to serve growing families through the incredible journey of the childbearing year.
